Jocelyn (she/her) is a choreographer and multi-disciplinary artist currently working in so-called Ottawa on the un-ceded traditional territory of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation. I work with the body and the body's interaction with present moment, environment, sound, space, concept and other bodies. I'm curious about the vibrating body, but also its capacity for stillness, sometimes I prefer order - but also chaos. I'm interested in deep and continual change.

In 2012, I began living between Canada and England. While in London, I participated in artistic research at the iconic Barbican Centre, created and presented in collaboration with Huddersfield University and participated in the Suffolk High Tide Festival with Sounding Motion. In 2015, I was mentored by Peter Boneham in creative process as part of creation platform Projet Brut, and presented my works on different stages housed in Arts Court in Ottawa. In 2017, I presented my work Time + Light at the Robin Howard Theatre as part of Resolution Dance Festival in London.

Since the pandemic I have created several short dance films. My film Gold was presented as part of Dance On Screen at the Mayfair Theatre in Fall 2021. I have presented many live works since 2021, as restrictions lifted, with the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts and Ottawa Dance Directive.

I am forever grateful for the practice of movement and art creation and for the communities of artists that I am privileged to know and work with.
