Jocelyn Todd (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer and multi-disciplinary artist currently working in so-called Ottawa on the unceded Territory of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation.

After graduating from The School of Dance (TSOD) Contemporary Dance Programme in 2012, she began living and working in London, UK. While abroad she studied extensively in dance, improvisation and choreographic pedagogy and process and presented choreographic work in London and Suffolk and participated in residency at the Barbican Centre.

Returning to Canada in 2020, Jocelyn has been supported by the Ottawa Arts Council, City of Ottawa, Ottawa Dance Directive, Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts. Her work as a teacher combines varied movement and improvisation practices with contemporary pedagogies and encourages the uniqueness of each individual body.

Jocelyn was the co-founder and co-artistic director of Dark Horse Dance Projects (DHDP), a dance creation and presentation platform that spanned seven seasons (2015-2022) and focussed on supporting dance artists in Ottawa.

She is currently working as a choreographer and dancer and acts as a choreographic support for other artists' work and research projects.  Some of Jocelyn’s choreographic works include: Time + Light (2017-2022) which was first shown in London, the A team (2017-2022), Gold (2020), light from a shattering shell (2019-2021), puff (2023-), bend (2023-) and grains towers (2024-), often collaborating with musicians and always, for all works, in collaboration with the dancers involved. She has also created five stage works and two film works for pre-professional contemporary dance students.

Jocelyn is deeply grateful for the practice of movement and creation and for the mentors and artists that she is privileged to know and work with.
