Blank Slate

Blank Slate is a commissioning collective based in so-called Ottawa where choreographers from inside and outside of the city are commissioned to work with diverse and bespoke groups of local dancers. The opportunity- and innovation-making work that Blank Slate is invested in will be administratively and artistically directed by Katherine Ng and Jocelyn Todd, but will include multiple collaborators over time.

Katherine and Jocelyn have a long standing professional artistic relationship that began in 2012 when they graduated in the same class at The School of Dance’s (Ottawa) post-secondary Contemporary Dance Programme. In their professional lives, they have both danced, choreographed and produced work extensively abroad and locally and also collaborated together on dance and multidisciplinary projects as choreographers, dancers, rehearsal directors, mentors, etc.
